PRODUCT OVERVIEW: The BBY Series Combination Exit Sign and Emergency Light unit is the perfect solution for those that need an exit sign and emergency lighting. Durable construction, combined with and appealing design and affordability make the BBY a very attractive choice. The injection molded thermoplastic housing is corrosion and flame resistant and features an innovative snap together design allowing fast and easy installation. The BBY features high-output LEDs that evenly illuminate the exit portion of the unit while the top mounted emergency unit incorporates 5W halogen MR-16 lamps that are fully adjustable. The BBY comes standard finished in white with red or green letters.

CONSTRUCTION: The BBY series is constructed from high quality corrosion and flame resistant thermoplastic. White finish is standard. The BBY combination series features a low profile exit and a top mounted emergency light. The exit sign has field adjustable chevrons and snap together face panels. The top mounted emergency unit features semi-recessed MR-16 lamp heads that are positioned in 360 gimbal style assemblies. An external LED status indicator and test switch is standard.

ILLUMINATION: The BBY series is supplied with two semi-recessed, front mounted MR-16 lamps, 5 watts . Lamp heads are mounted within a gimbal style assembly, which allows correct and accurate beam positioning. The exit sign portion of the BBY is illuminated by high-output, energy-efficient, red or green LEDs.Exit Sign is illuminated by high-output energy efficient LEDs.

BATTERY TECHNOLOGY: The BBY series is supplied with a sealed, maintenance-free valve regulated 6V 4.5Ah sealed lead acid battery that provides a minimum emergency operation of 90 minutes. Recharge time of the battery is 24 hours. The maximum working temperature is 50°C or 122°F.

INSTALLATION: The BBY series combination unit is suitable for surface, ceiling, and wall mounting. Canopy and mounting hardware are included. The BBY is suitable for indoor and damp location installations. The mounting kit includes two chevrons, two 1 inch screws ,two 1.5 inch screws ,one metal adjustment plate, and 3 wire nuts.

Question : Does this exit sign plug-in to a wall outlet?
Answer : No. LED and other types of electrical exit signs have to be hard-wired into your electrical system. Electrical exit signs must be hard-wired to be building and fire code compliant. If you are looking for an exit sign to use in a location that does not have electricity available please look at our non-electrical Self Luminous and Photoluminescent exit signs.
Question : How do I know if this exit sign is approved for use in my city/county/state?
Answer : The UL listing (Underwriters Laboratories) for of our exit signs ensures that these signs are code compliant. UL tests our exit signs and then gives their approval. This approval comes in the form of a listing. As long as your exit sign is UL listed it will work for your jurisdiction. Two exceptions exist: New York City and Chicago, which have their own exit sign specifications in addition to the UL listing.
Question : What does 120/277v mean?
Answer : 120/277 refers to the line voltage that the exit sign can operate on. 120 refers to residential and small commercial line voltage while 220 refers to commercial and office building line voltage. The main point is that our exit signs will work in either situation so you don’t need to worry about the functionality. We recommend using a licensed electrician or maintenance professional to install exit signs, emergency lights and other safety egress equipment.
Question : What is and do I need the battery backup option?
Answer : The battery backup option provides emergency battery power to illuminate your exit sign or emergency light in case of a fire, earthquake, or other emergency that causes a power outage. You must have the battery backup model if you DO NOT have a generator that provides emergency power to your facility.
