PRODUCT OVERVIEW: The RZ2’s rugged construction is ideal for use in NEC Class I & II areas. The RZ2 exit sign is designed for hostile environments that would otherwise damage ordinary sign components. The RZ2 exit sign features corrosion-resistant, gasketed enclosures and high output, wet location rating, and optional self-diagnostics.

CONSTRUCTION: Impact resistant, industrial gray fiberglass reinforced polyester enclosure with stainless steel hardware is completely sealed and gasketed. The enclosure includes a clear polycarbonate cover.

ILLUMINATION: Exit face illumination is provided by a special high intensity direct-view red or green LED panel. Letter brightness and illumination uniformity exceed UL requirements. LED lamp life rated for an average 25 years.

Directional Indicators: Infield applicable chevron arrows sized to meet UL visibility requirements.

BATTERY TECHNOLOGY: The RZ2 utilizes a Sealed Nickel Cadmium battery which is long lasting and maintenance free.

INSTALLATION: Units are designed for installation to wall surfaces by means of internal knockouts or four external mounting feet provided with the enclosure. Wiring: A wiring hub is provided on the right hand side of the enclosure for attachment of surface wiring conduit.

ELECTRICAL SPECIFICATIONS: Charger Type: Emergency exit models utilize a fully automatic, temperature compensating, constant current type charger. All combination unit models utilize a fully automatic, temperature compensating, variable rate type charger.

Short Circuit Protection: On units with solid state transfer, output protection is provided by a disconnect circuit that automatically resets itself when the fault condition is corrected. Brownout Protection: Automatically switches the unit to emergency mode when AC voltage sags below 80% of nominal.

CODE COMPLIANCE: All models meet NFPA 101 Life Safety Code, NEC, OSHA, BOCA, state and local codes, UL924, 844 and 1604 Listed.

Question : How do I know if this exit sign is approved for use in my city/county/state?
Answer : The UL listing (Underwriters Laboratories) for of our exit signs ensures that these signs are code compliant. UL tests our exit signs and then gives their approval. This approval comes in the form of a listing. As long as your exit sign is UL listed it will work for your jurisdiction. Two exceptions exist: New York City and Chicago, which have their own exit sign specifications in addition to the UL listing.
Question : What does 120/277v mean?
Answer : 120/277 refers to the line voltage that the exit sign can operate on. 120 refers to residential and small commercial line voltage while 220 refers to commercial and office building line voltage. The main point is that our exit signs will work in either situation so you don’t need to worry about the functionality. We recommend using a licensed electrician or maintenance professional to install exit signs, emergency lights and other safety egress equipment.
Question : What is and do I need the battery backup option?
Answer : The battery backup option provides emergency battery power to illuminate your exit sign or emergency light in case of a fire, earthquake, or other emergency that causes a power outage. You must have the battery backup model if you DO NOT have a generator that provides emergency power to your facility.
